RN / Registered Nurse - Planned Surgical (New and Innovative) Unit (80% FTE, Evening Shift)
About The Position
Harborview Medical Center’s (HMC) new, innovative 4MB – Planned Surgical unit has an outstanding opportunity for Registered Nurses (RNs). Harborview’s New 4MB Unit – 4MB is the first in-patient innovative (to include virtual care) unit in the UW Medicine system. In this unit we will integrate the latest technologies in the market allowing us to explore virtual care initiatives. HMC’s 4MB unit will be a 20-bed inpatient acute care unit with telemetry monitoring capability. 4MB specializes in, but not limited to, planned spine surgery patients and other planned surgical cases. This New Harborview Medical Center unit opened Spring 2025.
Requirements
- WA State RN license.
- Two – three years of current or recent acute care/medical surgical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated skill and preference for adult education (preceptor, unit based skills, etc.).
Nice To Haves
- BSN (or higher degree)
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on a new, innovative inpatient unit specializing in planned surgical cases, including spine surgery.
- Integrate and utilize the latest technologies, including virtual care initiatives.
- Perform telemetry monitoring.
- Provide adult education as a preceptor or in other unit-based skills capacities.
