Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized College or School of Nursing and preferably hold a baccalaureate degree
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO
  • Cardiology experience with a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Critical Care area (CCU, CSICU, ICU, Emerg Resus) required
  • Current BCLS and ACLS required
  • Critical care certificate required
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation, including knowledge of arrhythmias, invasive pressures — left and right heart
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution and critical thinking in stressful situations
  • Team player, with the ability to work well in a team focused environment
  • Innovative and willing to learn
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good attendance and work record

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiac Cath Lab/Electrophysiology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Successful candidate will work in the Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology procedure rooms
  • Participate along with other team members in procedures as Scrub nurse, circulator, monitoring nurse
  • Manage the care of stable & unstable patients
  • Think critically, react to change, adapt quickly and set appropriate priorities and interventions in emergency situations
  • Acts as a patient advocate and contributes to the smooth functioning cardiac program
  • Working collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to assess, plan, treat and evaluate the individualized care plans for the cardiac and critically ill patient
