About The Position

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide care in a Telemetry and Med/Surg Unit setting, supporting a range of patient needs across multiple facilities in the region. The Med/Surg and Telemetry units accommodate acute and chronic medical cases and include telemetry monitoring. RNs manage 4–5 patients, while CNAs oversee 8–11 patients. Equipment and care needs include CPAP, BiPAP, and tracheostomy care; respiratory vents are not available. Nurses may care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

The nurse will primarily be assigned to a designated facility but must be prepared to float to other regional locations as needed, including Lakewood, Enumclaw, and Tacoma, Washington. Orientation includes training across relevant Med/Surg units, emphasizing comprehensive understanding of standard care in this environment. Candidates may be assigned as a CNA or entrance screener if staffing shortages occur.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in acute care settings.
• BLS certification.
• Availability to work night shifts of 12 hours, with 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Ability to float to other facilities within the region as needed.
• Availability every other weekend and for holiday coverage during peak winter periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
• Titrate medication drips according to guidelines and escalate care when necessary.
• Monitor telemetry readings and verify their accuracy with telemetry technicians.
• Participate in scheduled breaks and use allotted time for rest and recuperation.
• Complete required orientation for multiple units within the Med/Surg division.
• Float to other regional facilities as needed.
• Be available for every other weekend and holiday coverage during peak winter periods.
