About The Position

This role provides direct clinical patient care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit-level basis. The role supervises staff to whom care is delegated and supports the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The nurse coordinates care using a multidisciplinary approach, develops and updates plans of care, delivers nursing interventions consistent with the medical plan, performs procedures within the specialty service area, and documents care accurately and completely in patient records.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current applicable state RN licensure or permit.
BLS certification required upon hire for all nursing positions.
ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire for ICU RNs.

Responsibilities

Coordinate care for assigned patients using a multidisciplinary approach.
Develop a plan of care for newly admitted patients and modify it as patient conditions or needs change.
Deliver designated nursing interventions consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
Perform procedures in the specialty service area.
Document nursing care accurately and completely in assigned patient records and on appropriate forms.
Perform related duties as required.
Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
Support the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
