About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This is a 13-week seasonal contract, PRN, Days position. The shift schedule is 3/12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with no on-call requirements. Every other weekend is required. The Labor and Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Our leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation. The unit has 10 Labor and Delivery Suites, 4 obstetrical emergency beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU beds, and 5 high-risk antepartum beds. As a Seasonal RN, you will align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, and implement care plans. Monitoring patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Min of 2 yrs L&D RN experience
  • A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
  • A valid Registered Nurse license
  • The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
  • Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.

  • Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
  • Align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans.

  • Understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
