About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and in-direct patient care by adhering to the nursing process in a collaborative environment, promoting optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, care coordination, and patient and family engagement.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.
  • Meets unit specific care requirements; new graduates taken under consideration based on the needs of the unit.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
  • Additional certifications to meet unit specific care requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS).
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and patient documentation.
  • Demonstrated initiative in quality and patient safety improvements.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in complex environments.
  • Must maintains compliance with competency validations and continuing education.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to a collaborative work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • One (1) year or more of acute care or specialty setting.
  • National certification in specialty area (e.g., CCRN, CMSRN, CEN).

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe and effective nursing care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs across the care continuum.
  • Administers medications, perform treatments, and document care activities in accordance with Health First’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, participate in rounds, and support discharge planning.
  • Applies critical thinking to promptly identify changes in patient condition and initiate the appropriate interventions.
  • Educates patients and families using teach-back to promote engagement in care and safe transitions.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and infection prevention practices to protect patients and Associates.
  • Utilizes Health First technology systems to enter clinical documentation and care plans.
  • Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) initiatives.
  • Supports precepting, mentoring, and onboarding of new Associates and students as appropriate.
  • Promotes a culture of purpose, rounding, and communication at the bedside (e.g., whiteboard use, bedside shift report).
