About The Position

We are seeking experienced nurses to join our float pool. This position will require nurses to float to various inpatient units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, Orthopedic/Neuro, and Sub-Acute Units. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current Wisconsin Nursing License
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state laws/practice acts.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
• Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of patient care continuity.
• Apply critical thinking skills to enhance patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately through the chain of command.
