Registered Nurse- Cardiac Care Decision Unit- Days PRN
About The Position
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. This role involves assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment, and providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. Additionally, the role includes providing health teaching and counseling, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking to manage changes in patient condition, completing accurate documentation, contributing to policy development, supervising licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistants, advocating for patients, completing required education and competencies, and floating to other SIH nursing units within their competency level.
Requirements
- Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS Card
- Current ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)
- Current ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire)
- TNCC (within 1 year of hire or residency graduation)
- ECRN (within 24 months of hire of residency graduation)
- ACLS, Fetal Monitoring – Monitoring, & NRP (within 6 months of hire)
- NRP (within 6 months of hire)
- NRP & PALS (within 6 months of hire)
- ONS CTC-Infusion Center: (Fundamentals within first 6 months) and Chemotherapy Certificate Course (within 1 year, renewed every 2 years)
- SJ-Infusion: (Fundamentals within first 6 months, renewed every 2 years) or ONS Chemotherapy Certificate (renewed every 2 years)

Responsibilities

- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Provide in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients
- Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
- Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
- Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care
- Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel
- Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals
- Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
- Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
Benefits
- Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $31.25 To $49.06
