Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current Registered Nurse New Jersey State license.
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS and/or, ENPC within 1 year of hire.
  • A minimum of 8 hours of education every two years in basic trauma assessment intervention and stabilization.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting.
  • Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision.
  • The ability to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters the ED.
  • Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the department.
  • Communicate with the physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.
  • The ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use equipment specific to the Emergency Department.
