About The Position

Beacon Behavioral Inpatient Hospital, a leading behavioral health program in Louisiana with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Inpatient team in Lutcher. The hospital offers inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for individuals struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders. Requirements

• Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of operation.
• A Bachelor’s, associate degree or diploma in nursing with documented evidence of educational program focused on treating psychiatric patients.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, 1 year of which was providing nursing care to the mentally ill, OR receive regular documented supervision/consultation from a master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Charge Nurse, responsible for nursing care and supervision of LPNs, CNAs and Mental Health Technicians.
• Assure that care provided demonstrates the ANA standards for care and utilizes evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate in the development and implementation of the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
• Serve as the Medication Nurse as needed and assist LPNs and all staff as needed.
• Assist the DON as the liaison between the program staff and medical staff.
• Work within established budget and staffing guidelines.
• Participate in Performance Improvement by engaging in the plan, study, do act cycle of improvement.
• Serve as a role model to others of professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
