About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides care and education for patients based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. The position manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or certificate in nursing, or an associate degree in nursing.
• Florida Registered Nurse license or eligibility for a compact-state license upon hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification upon hire.
• ACLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
• Demonstrated proficiency in nursing knowledge and skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, identify, and prioritize patient and family needs to provide quality care; develop, discuss, and communicate each patient's plan of care in collaboration with the care team.
• Safely deliver medications and treatments; monitor and document patient responses; and uphold safety policies and protocols, including patient identification and risk mitigation, to ensure a safe, individualized plan of care.
• Continuously assess patients, detect changes in condition, and communicate with appropriate care team members to support prompt clinical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Promote effective working relationships and work effectively as part of a department or unit to meet goals and objectives.
• Maintain current documentation, licensure, certifications, required education, and competencies in accordance with unit scope of service and professional standards; pursue professional growth and development.
