Registered Nurse (RN)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse systematically assesses and reassesses individuals’ healthcare needs for their age groups and conditions, involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers as appropriate. The nurse analyzes assessment findings to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, then provides and coordinates nursing care through interventions guided by professional judgment, current evidence-based practice, regulations, and policy. The role evaluates patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge, and evaluates discharge needs in relation to the plan of care, using resources as needed. New graduates must complete Norman Regional’s Nurse Residency Program.
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required.
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) must be maintained through retraining for the duration of employment.
- New graduates are required to complete Norman Regional’s Nurse Residency Program.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Previous experience in the healthcare field.
Responsibilities

- Provide and coordinate nursing care through interventions that address patient goals and needs, using professional judgment and current evidence-based practice, regulations, and policy.
- Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts, and reach sound conclusions.
- Evaluate discharge needs in relation to the plan of care and use resources as needed.
