About The Position

As a Registered Nurse at Genesys Health System, you will use your independent professional judgment and analytical skills to provide a full range of nursing services to patients. You will work within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner's Domains of Nursing Practice to ensure clinical competence, compassion, and patient-centered care. Your role is critical in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to achieve quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource use, and quality outcomes.
Provide patient care that respects individual rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety measures, medications, and self-care, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
Administer medications, IVs, and blood products according to established policies and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Monitor patient responses to interventions, recognize acute changes in patient conditions, and respond appropriately to ensure timely and effective care.
Collaborate with case managers and other healthcare professionals to develop and review discharge plans, ensuring continuity of care.
