About The Position

UMC Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift position (7P-7A) on the 3 West unit. This unit is a 33-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic Trauma and Surgical Unit that provides quality patient care to a diverse patient population, ranging from young adults to geriatrics. The unit specializes in orthopedic trauma and surgery, including total joint replacements and fractures. 3 West also offers a Joint Mobility Camp for patients who have undergone joint procedures and provides a learning-conducive, comprehensive orientation that uses interdisciplinary collaboration. The Registered professional nurse in this role assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. This role requires effective communication with other shifts and departments for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
  • Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Med-surg certification preferred and encouraged
