•$41 - $54•Onsite

About The Position

As a Registered Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), you will provide compassionate, expert care for patients experiencing complex cardiovascular conditions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Patients may include those with heart failure exacerbations, coronary artery disease, STEMI, pulmonary hypertension, cardiogenic shock, heart blocks, post-cardiac arrest recovery, and other critical cardiac conditions. The role involves caring for patients who may require advanced therapies and technologies such as Impella devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, LVADs, ventilator support, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Nurses work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and fellow nurses. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2, and may be 1:1 for the most critically ill patients. A dedicated charge nurse without a patient assignment provides additional team support. The position offers a rotating schedule or an all-night shift option, with no call requirements. UVA Health describes the CCU as a collaborative team environment that supports professional learning and development while delivering care to complex cardiovascular patients.
