About The Position

Ackerman Cancer Center is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to provide safe and competent direct and indirect nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, standards, and practices. The nurse serves as a direct caregiver and patient educator, supporting patients undergoing radiation therapy and their families. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse experience in a clinical setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Florida Registered Nursing License.
• BLS/ACLS certifications.
• Strong patient care skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care for assigned patients.
• Monitor the medical conditions of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
• Assess clinical needs and manage medications.
• Assist with physician consultations regarding patient care.
• Educate patients and families about radiation therapy and possible cancer-treatment side effects.
• Assist with patient assessments and interventions.
• Manage patient navigation and follow-up activities.
• Accurately triage patient calls to the correct department.
• Administer injections at the request of an oncology physician.
• Respond to patient requests in the KAIKU portal and conduct phone triage.
• Manage all genomic test orders.
• Obtain prior authorization for specialty medications.
