About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients, offering opportunities to expand your knowledge base. Our PCU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes medical PCU patients with all Cardiac drips, and a mix of surgical post-operative patients including vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma. The unit has 32 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.

Requirements

• Graduation from an Accredited Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of PCU RN experience.
• Specialized field of study in nursing.
• RN license.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for medical PCU patients including those on Cardiac drips.
• Care for a mix of surgical post-operative patients including vascular, ortho, neuro, and trauma.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
• Participate in unit-based councils.
• Contribute to a spirit of inquiry and innovation.
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams to ensure safe passage and quality outcomes.
