About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the general supervision and coordination of nursing personnel activities during the assigned shift, including weekends and holidays, to support quality and continuity of patient care. The RN uses the nursing process to assess patients, plan care, and perform care interventions, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare clinicians to plan and implement patient care. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned. The position is based at Baptist Medical Center South and is listed as regular PRN on the first shift.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing required.
• Active RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC may be required depending on the assigned area.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Ability to sit for 20% and remain mobile for 80% of the workday.
• Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch; frequently reach, use hands, and perform repetitive actions.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds.
• Clear speech and hearing sensitivity for continuous conversation by phone or in person, and continuous close- and distant-range visual acuity.

• BSN degree preferred.
