About The Position

This role involves providing 1:1 nursing care for an elementary-aged student with complex respiratory needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator dependency, within a school setting. The Registered Nurse (RN) will monitor the student's health status, administer medications and treatments, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate health records. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families is essential to support the student's health and educational goals. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of hire
  • Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care strongly preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, school settings, or medically complex individuals preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 nursing care for a student with complex respiratory needs throughout the school day
