About The Position

The Registered Nurse will perform assessments of assigned patients, derive nursing diagnoses based on assessment data, and plan nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to resolve current problems or prevent potential problems. The role involves providing teaching to patients and families to assist with comfort, offering emotional support in a way that fosters independence and affirms strengths, and assessing the need for home health aide services. Additionally, the nurse will assess and provide pain management strategies to assist with patient comfort, promote a team environment, and comply with the policies and procedures of Hospice of Huntington, Inc. This includes protecting the confidentiality of private health care information and promoting the philosophy and services of the organization.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing
• Licensed registered nurse in West Virginia and Ohio
• Minimum of 2 years registered nursing experience
• Proof of liability insurance
• Current driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
• Philosophy compatible with the hospice concept
• Successful completion of a background check
• Successful completion of a drug screening

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• home health or hospice nursing preferred
