Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.

  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform functions including collecting comprehensive data, analyzing assessment data, identifying expected outcomes, developing a plan, implementing the plan, ensuring patient progression, coordinating care, employing strategies for health teaching and promotion, and evaluating progress.
  • Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), which include enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, attaining knowledge and competency, evaluating one's own practice, interacting with and contributing to the professional development of peers, collaborating with patients and families, integrating ethical provisions, integrating research findings, considering factors like safety and cost in planning and delivery of services, providing leadership, and practicing in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
  • Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators, and accreditation/certifying organizations.
  • Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
  • Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and to access other work-related applications.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem-solving.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
