The Registered Nurse performs an age-specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse collaborates with physicians and other health team members to coordinate and implement procedures and treatments, and uses clinical judgment and leadership skills to coordinate patient care and direct or delegate activities of the patient care unit team. The role includes assessing patients’ physical and psychosocial health, identifying needs and desired outcomes, developing individualized care plans, implementing and evaluating care, administering treatments and medications, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing patient and family education. The nurse supports safe, effective care, coordinates with the care team, assists physicians with treatments and diagnostic procedures, and contributes to discharge planning and quality improvement. Related duties may also be required. A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred; the nurse must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within five years of the job entry date. A current New York State license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse is required. Specialized certifications are required as needed. The posting notes that the stated salary range or hourly rate is a good-faith estimate of potential base compensation and may be modified; compensation may depend on factors such as location, specialty, relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
