About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work alongside surgeons and other nurses in a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for circulating, scrubbing, and caring for patients pre- and post-operatively, supporting patients in achieving their desired results and assisting other staff members. The position also involves patient visits, triage, and inventory management. The nurse will administer medications, use medical equipment, maintain patient records, and ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork, adherence to core values (Positivity, Productivity, and Professionalism), and supporting APDerm's mission and culture of high-quality standards. This includes following applicable policies, procedures, industry standards, laws, and regulations, such as privacy and data protection practices, ensuring a safe workplace, and reporting any non-compliant behavior. Completion of assigned training, including Code of Conduct, Privacy & Data Security, and OSHA, is required.

Requirements

  • OR experience – 1 Year prior experience Required
  • PACU or ICU experience – 1 Year prior experience Required
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • BLS, ALCS certification
  • Current MA state nursing license
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment with an adaptable personality
  • Necessary to be a proactive person and able to have foresight to prepare for upcoming situations

Responsibilities

  • Pre-oping patients for medical clearance
  • Monitoring patients during the procedure and providing post-op care and instructions
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Educating patients on specific procedures, explaining what to expect before, during, and after
  • Working in the OR
  • Aid in patient visits, triage, inventory, etc.
  • Administering medications and using medical equipment
  • Keeping good records and maintaining patients’ charts
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a clinical setting
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment
  • Prepare rooms and medical equipment and decontaminate instruments
