About The Position

The Registered Professional Nurse in CARS is responsible for the provision of direct patient care to a designated group of patients, in a fast paced multi-faceted department. These responsibilities will include the observation data collection, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient's physical, psychological, emotional, educational and spiritual needs.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing required
  • BLS Certification
  • Successful completion of CPI training within 3 months of hire.
  • Successful completion of medication competency exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an Accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Helps to maintain 24-hour accountability for quality of care of clients.
  • Completes physical & mental health assessments (VS, risk assessments, withdrawal assessment (COWS) as indicated by Part 820 regulations
  • Administers and monitors treatment regimens
  • Administers prescribed medications
  • Observes and reports behavioral changes
  • Maintains control of drugs and medications
  • Triage emergent client medical issues and coordinate care with the Nursing Staff, PA, NP, Medical Director and outside providers.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
  • Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Ensure OASAS/Medicaid regulatory compliance, Collaborates with Director of Nursing, Direct Care Staff, Counselors, Clinical Directors, other Department Managers and Compliance Manager in Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement Activities
