About The Position
VON Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent position within their Shift Nursing program. This role involves providing holistic, person-centred care to a diverse client base including children, youth, adults, and seniors in their homes, clinics, virtually, and through community outreach. The Shift nurses focus on extended visits for clients with complex medical needs such as being medically fragile, technologically dependent, requiring chronic/complex care, palliative care, or pain and symptom management. The position offers autonomy, the opportunity to practice to the full scope of nursing, and requires a significant amount of driving.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities
- Client assessments to develop individual care plans
- Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
- Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
- IV therapy and CVAD management
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Dialysis Management
- Rehabilitative programs
- Palliative and End of Life Care
