About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Surgery Center team in beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin. This is a great opportunity to provide hands-on pre-op and post-op care during daytime hours, while working in a collaborative and patient-centered environment. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to geriatrics, and providing pre-op and post-op care for a wide range of surgical specialties. Responsibilities include performing IV starts, medication administration, and administering conscious sedation, as well as delivering patient education and discharge instructions.

Requirements

• Current RN license to practice in Wisconsin
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification for healthcare providers
• ACLS and PALS certifications (required after hire)
• Experience in acute care with intermediate care patients preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on pre-op and post-op care
• Care for a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Provide pre-op and post-op care for a wide range of surgical specialties including: Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Hand, Urology, Podiatry, GYN, Dental, Pain Services, Cardioversions, Lumbar Punctures, and Bone Marrow Biopsies
• Perform IV starts, medication administration
• Administer conscious sedation
• Deliver patient education and discharge instructions
• Post shift on call requirement approximately once every other week to finish cases
• Weekend call – Two 12-hour daytime call shifts every 6–8 months, supporting the main recovery room alongside a recovery room RN
