About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their Emergency Department team. This role involves providing professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. The ED nurse will triage patients, determine priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs, and manage patient flow. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, prioritizing care, stabilizing patients, initiating treatment, and arranging for discharge or further hospitalization. The department values teamwork, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement, with a focus on quality outcomes and patient safety.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
RN license active in the state of Missouri
Must obtain ENPC within 24 months of hire
Must obtain TNCC within 18 months of hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Previous nursing experience

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages.
Triage and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system.
Assess the needs of each patient, prioritize care based on the critical nature, work to stabilize the patient, initiate treatment, discharge the patient after the emergency is over or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.
