About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Brain Injury Unit is accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessing patients and making clinical decisions regarding nursing care, ensuring nursing care is provided safely and competently, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating care for groups of patients. The position requires patient care and is based onsite at 300 First Avenue, with a 36-hour scheduled workweek on the night shift. The role is a regular employee position.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Nursing required; a bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Registered Nurse state license required.
Clinical nursing experience of 0–1 year required.
Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
Knowledge of care required by the age groups receiving care.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
Interpret the plan of medical care and make clinical decisions regarding nursing care.
Provide safe, competent, individualized nursing care and evaluate care for groups of patients.
