About The Position

Sycamore Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide behavioral health care. The nurse uses specialized plan-of-care interventions and contributes to patient care and wellbeing by providing compassionate, condition- and age-appropriate care. Sycamore Springs is a 48-bed behavioral health hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, serving adults age 18 and older through crisis care and assessment, inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, and PHP and IOP programs.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in nursing.
Current Registered Nurse license as required by the regulations of the state where the facility operates.
Critical-thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
CPR certification within 30 days of employment and before any patient contact.
De-escalation certification within 30 days of employment and before any patient contact.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
Complete timely and appropriate medical-necessity documentation in the medical record.
Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
Perform timely and accurate quality improvement (QI) assessments.
