About The Position

We are seeking an energetic and passionate, client-driven Registered Nurse who is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care in the emergency care setting including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Our Registered Nurse will provide patient care for all ages in compliance with policies/procedures and the standards of professional nursing practice as defined by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State they are in. With the Registered Nurse’s professional practice, he/she is responsible for participating in and maintaining quality, cost effectiveness and customer relations. Requirements

  • 2 years of experience of inpatient acute care nursing or Emergency Department Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure
  • BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC
  • Maintain clinical competency and continuing education
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in the inpatient setting in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Performs detailed head-to-toe physical assessments and psychosocial evaluations upon admission, with ongoing reassessments in accordance with physician orders, patient condition changes, and hospital policy.
  • Develops, implements, and continuously evaluates individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
  • Prioritizes patient care needs based on acuity, clinical judgment, and established care protocols.
  • Monitors patient progress and response to treatment interventions, including medications, therapies, and procedural care.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to changes in patient condition, including escalation of care when clinically indicated.
  • Coordinates and facilitates diagnostic testing and procedures, ensuring accurate patient preparation, timely execution, and appropriate follow-up on results.
  • Accurately collects, labels, and processes specimens in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policy.
  • Provides ongoing patient and family education related to diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and disease management to promote continuity of care and optimal outcomes.
  • Ensures safe transitions of care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, with thorough handoff communication and documentation.
  • Collaborates closely with case management, physicians, and ancillary departments to support discharge planning and reduce readmissions.
  • Supports Emergency Department operations during periods of low inpatient census by assisting with patient care activities within scope of practice, promoting overall hospital throughput and patient flow.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards.
  • Supervise Technicians and support staff assigned to the inpatient unit
  • Maintains medication safety using the five rights of administration.
  • Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other departmental personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Communicate with team members and leadership staff effectively using professional and constructive communication techniques.
  • Continuously demonstrate a Service Oriented approach in interactions with patients and visitors.
  • Treat others with dignity and respect and always conduct themselves in an ethical manner.
  • Participate in professional and constructive conflict resolution when there are disagreements in the work environment and resolve work-related issues and disputes in a professional manner and through established business processes.
  • Maintains a clean working environment to assure a safe environment of care for patients and safe working environment for staff members, actively participates in process improvement.
  • Support efforts that ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Participates in daily environmental and quality checks according to Post Falls ER & Hospital procedures and licensing/accreditation standards.
  • Report circumstances or concerns that may affect satisfactory work performance to leadership, including any inappropriate (fraudulent, illegal, unethical) activities of other employees.
  • Use Post Falls ER & Hospital's equipment, time, supplies, and resources judiciously and as authorized.
  • Maintain the qualifications, certification, licensure, and/or training requirements identified for their position.
  • Participates in continuing education through training and educational programs.
  • Completes all mandatory education requirements by assigned due dates.
  • The Registered Nurse will participate in monthly staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
  • Comply with Post Falls ER & Hospital's expectations, policies, and procedures
  • Perform duties assigned and adheres to scheduling and attendance policies.
