Registered Nurse- Elliot 1-Day Surgery Center- Per Diem
About The Position
The Elliot 1 Day Surgery Center Operating Room is one of the largest and most active OR departments in the state, located at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire. It is designed to provide minimally invasive surgical procedures with the highest level of quality care and patient satisfaction. We are fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology that can offer a wide range of services including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, urology, and gynecology. Our teams of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical personnel are committed to providing the highest quality patient care in a safe and comfortable environment. The center also offers pre-surgical testing, post-operative care, and education to ensure a smooth transition back to normal activities.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a circulator required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide sterility and safety for all surgical procedures.
- Examine, take vital signs, verify allergies, and answer questions to prepare patients for surgery.
- Monitor each patient, record vital signs changes, and use sterile equipment during operation.
- Dispose of medical waste and disinfect the OR room before closing.
- Ensure patient safety and satisfaction before, during, and after surgery.
- Assess patient needs before, during and after a surgical procedure.
- Operate specialized medical equipment including anesthesia machines and ventilators.
- Prepare patients for surgery by scrubbing, gowning, and positioning them on the operating table.
- Monitor vital signs of patients while they are under general anesthesia.
- Maintain records of medications administered to ensure accuracy.
