About The Position

Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97-bed licensed acute psychiatric hospital in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, serving youth, adults, and active-duty military patients through inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. The hospital’s nursing team provides care to patients and families in a supportive healthcare environment. The Registered Nurse assesses patients, develops and implements individualized nursing interventions, evaluates responses, and documents care. The role is listed as full-time, with day and night shifts, under a three-month seasonal/temporary agreement offering guaranteed pay of $55 per hour.

Requirements

Current license to practice nursing in Kentucky, or eligibility to receive or renew a Kentucky nursing license.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

Assess and document initial data collection at patient admission and reassess patients at least once per shift according to policy and procedure.
Document and communicate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and patient responses in the medical record.
Provide accurate verbal or written change-of-shift reports regarding patient behavior, status, and issues requiring follow-up.
Orient patients to the program and explain the facility’s philosophy, policies, and procedures to patients, families, and staff.
Apply restraint and seclusion procedures in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and Kentucky mental health laws.
