About The Position

Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care in the ICU. The hospital is a 167-bed community hospital in Southern California that provides acute care services to Garden Grove and surrounding communities. The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and directs patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients, communicates clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians, responds promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it current.
Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Critical Care Course.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Critical care experience as a staff RN.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms to physicians.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
