About The Position
The Surgical Services Operating Room at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is a dynamic, team-focused environment featuring 12 operating rooms, including specialized cardiac, vascular hybrid, and urology suites. Nurses in this department provide care for a diverse patient population ranging from elective surgical cases to trauma and organ donation procedures. With a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, RN circulators play a critical role in coordinating patient care, maintaining patient safety, supporting sterile technique, and collaborating closely with surgeons, CRNAs, residents, and surgical technologists throughout each procedure. As a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Health, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering compassionate, quality patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families. Your role is vital in ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team and finding solutions to meet patient goals.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must be willing to enroll in an accredited BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of start date
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous Operating Room (OR) circulating experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and delivery of compassionate, quality patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families.
- Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
