About The Position
Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) team at the Regional Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho. The role provides specialized care for patients recovering from major cardiac surgeries and complex cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve surgery, and aortic surgery. Nurses work with advanced technology and equipment alongside surgeons and an interdisciplinary care team in a pathway-driven post-surgical unit that supports structured care and professional autonomy. The position emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care, patient education, accurate documentation, and coordinated transitions of care.
Requirements
- Idaho or multistate RN license; if applicable, establish Idaho residency within six months.
- BLS certification at hire.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures, including CABG, heart valve surgery, and aortic surgery.
- Deliver specialized, compassionate, patient-centered care in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
- Administer medications and perform essential procedures to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education and support to enhance health and wellness.
- Accurately and efficiently document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure smooth patient transitions.
