Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother Baby
About The Position
The Mother Baby RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to postpartum patients and neonates using the nursing process. The RN coordinates and integrates patient care according to the needs of patients and their families, follows safety, risk management, and infection-control standards, and works toward discharge with an optimum level of care. The RN uses evidence-based practice, follows professional standards and the Florida State Nurse Practice Act, and reviews orders and test results while accurately and promptly documenting care in the electronic health record. Care is provided in a family-centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together during their hospital stay. The position also includes delivery-room attendance and stabilization of well newborns. This is a full-time night-shift position. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, paid over 24 months.
Requirements
- Graduate of an RN program.
- One year of experience in a Med/Surg area or in a nursery/mother-baby unit; the posting labels this as minimum experience, while also stating nursery/mother-baby experience is preferred.
- Florida RN License.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- American Heart ACLS certification.
- NRP certification at hire or within 90 days of the start date for an inexperienced RN.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities
- Provide patients with an optimum level of care.
- Administer medications and perform procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide patient education and communication, and document care.
- Perform clinical skills related to the area of practice in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Adapt care to varied age-specific patient populations.
- Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the needs of patients and family members.
- Review orders and test results and accurately and promptly document care in the electronic health record.
- Attend deliveries and stabilize well newborns.
- Provide care in a family-centered setting where mothers and newborns remain together during their hospital stay.
