Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Assessment and Evaluation (CARE) Unit
About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Cardiac Assessment and Evaluation (CARE) Unit at Baystate Medical Center. This unit provides pre-procedural care and post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures. The unit cares for both outpatient and inpatient populations and includes a dedicated room for Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) procedures. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, aligned with ASPAN standards. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring strong teamwork and communication. Comprehensive, individualized orientation is provided by experienced staff.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum one year of RN experience
- ADN required
- Diploma in Nursing
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Critical care or Cath Lab experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures.
- Provide post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures.
- Care for both outpatient and inpatient populations before and after procedures.
- Work collaboratively in scrub, monitor, and circulator roles.
