About The Position

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Operating Room team at M Health Fairview Lakes Hospital, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Our state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical suites and dedicated obstetrical operating room feature the latest technology, and Lakes is home to one of the region’s most comprehensive heart care programs. Located in Wyoming, Minnesota, Lakes is conveniently situated just off I-35—approximately 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities, making it an easy commute from the metro while serving a growing surrounding community. Free parking is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Serving patients of all ages and cases including general surgery, orthopedic, podiatry, spine, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, ophthalmology and endoscopy. Averages 20 OR cases and 10-30 Endoscopy cases a day. 80th percentile ranking for Patient Satisfaction. Endoscopy/GI department has 2 procedure rooms to serve both outpatients and inpatients for colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and EGD procedures.

Requirements

  • 2 years of current RN OR experience
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) in accordance with all policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
  • The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
  • The Operating Room RN will be able to facilitate the patients in a 5 suite OR department.
  • Set up, circulate and organize O.R. rooms for a multitude of Surgical Services (Gen, Robot, Ent, Gyn, Urology, Ortho,etc.) and the GI /Endoscopy unit.
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).
  • The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
