About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ortho/Neuro Unit delivers safe, direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN directs and guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients, communicates changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians—including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms—and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Shasta Regional Medical Center is a 226-bed acute care facility serving Northern California and offers a comprehensive range of services. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching.
- Guide the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Ortho/Neuro Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate changes in patients’ clinical condition to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
