About The Position

The STAT ICU RN is an experienced ICU RN that responds to medical emergencies throughout the hospital; including Stroke alerts, Cardiac Arrests, Rapid Responses, Mass Transfusions, etc. In addition, will monitors inpatients utilizing Epic resources, rounds house-wide on units, and collaborates with the House Supervisor. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) offers a collaborative space where Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators work side by side, supporting one another to provide the best care possible. The team is further strengthened by having a dedicated Intensivist on-site around the clock and skilled Respiratory Therapy professionals available to help manage complex cases. Patient population include cardiovascular surgery, sepsis, respiratory failure, general surgery, and others. Department leadership includes a manager, an educator, and a cardiovascular coordinator, staff benefit from strong leadership and opportunities for professional growth. The department features 17 private rooms, ensuring comfort and privacy for both patients and caregivers. Those joining the ICU can expect an environment that values teamwork, learning, and high-quality care, with 6 week scheduling and self scheduling practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year RN ICU experience
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to medical emergencies throughout the hospital, including Stroke alerts, Cardiac Arrests, Rapid Responses, and Mass Transfusions.
  • Monitors inpatients utilizing Epic resources.
  • Rounds house-wide on units.
  • Collaborates with the House Supervisor.
  • Provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
