About The Position
This is a Registered Nurse (RN) position in an Orthopedic Medical Surgical Inpatient unit, specifically focusing on a Weekend Program with Dayshift 12-hour shifts. The unit, 3MESG, is South Shore's primary surgical unit where patients recover from procedures like total knee replacements, bowel resections, and amputations. The role also involves caring for a diverse mix of medical cases, including pneumonia, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, and stable pediatric patients aged 16+, within a fast-paced 33-bed unit. The nurse will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
