About The Position

The Registered Nurse manages patient care throughout the length of stay under general supervision and in accordance with organizational, unit, and Michigan Public Health Code policies and guidelines. The role uses the nursing process—assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation—to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge. The RN coordinates care delivered by other professionals, delegates appropriate tasks within professional nursing practice, provides physical care suited to patient acuity and complexity, and documents and communicates patient responses, resource use, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty. Direct-care employees must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. The RN collects and analyzes patient data, identifies problems, develops individualized plans and expected outcomes with patient and family input, implements and evaluates interventions, and documents progress. The position also involves patient education, discharge planning, medication and treatment administration, care coordination and delegation, quality improvement, continuing professional development, collaboration with patients, families, and other disciplines, advocacy, ethical practice, and applying research and evidence-based practice. Employees are expected to contribute to a supportive and healthy work environment and participate in appropriate professional activities. This full-time Emergency Department position is at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan. It is scheduled for 36 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift. Emergency Department-specific training and certifications are required within stated timeframes. The posting also describes additional responsibilities for other specialized RN roles and departments; those duties apply only where indicated.
