About The Position
Centurion is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in mental health to work at Wakulla Correctional Institution- RCC in Crawfordville, Florida. Centurion provides medical and mental health services to the Florida Department of Corrections. The RN provides nursing care to incarcerated patients, including health assessments, medication and treatment administration, patient education, and care documentation. The nurse coordinates with the interdisciplinary team and works closely with doctors, behavioral health professionals, and correctional staff to help ensure patients have access to quality healthcare. The role may also involve participating in and leading group classes for incarcerated patients as needed. The available schedule is days, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Associate's degree.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license, or ability to obtain one.
- Appropriate and active certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including passing a drug screen and criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments for incarcerated patients.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Provide patient education.
- Document patient care.
- Coordinate care with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Work with doctors, behavioral health professionals, and correctional staff to support patient access to healthcare services.
- Participate in and lead group classes for incarcerated patients as needed.
