Registered Nurse RN

MyMichigan Health•Gladwin Township, MI

About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and demonstrates competent clinical practice. The RN triages patients; obtains histories and vital signs; assesses patients; and provides care to acutely ill and non-acute patients. In life-threatening situations and when a physician is absent, the RN independently initiates immediate care. The position involves performing nursing procedures using simple and complex skills, assisting physicians with procedures, providing physical and psychological comfort to patients and their families, and giving discharge and follow-up instructions. The RN also responds to ambulance radios and gives appropriate pre-hospital care orders without assistance. The work involves sophisticated equipment and varied patients in a frequently stressful environment. The RN assesses patient needs, provides skilled nursing services under physician-authorized plans of care and accepted nursing standards, processes provider orders, evaluates treatment effectiveness, and collaborates with the healthcare team to update care plans. The role includes patient and family education, documentation, maintaining a safe environment, and coordination of referrals when appropriate. Employees may be required to float between West Branch and Gladwin beginning July 1, 2026. Candidates need an Associate's Degree in Nursing and a Michigan RN license. Required certifications and credentials include RN licensure, ACLS, TNCC or ATCN, PALS, BLS, ENPC, fingerprinting, TEAM Advanced, and NIMS IS 100 and IS 700, with specified post-hire completion deadlines for several certifications. The role includes exposure to stressful situations, trauma, grief, death, and potentially infectious materials. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, move about the facility, and meet the position's physical and sensory requirements. The physical demand level is medium, including lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally and handling lighter loads more frequently. Annual TB testing and OSHA training are required.
