About The Position

Working in accordance with established Everstand Policies and Procedures and the applicable State Board(s) of Nursing to provide care and services as the Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will develop, manage and monitor: administration and supervision of medication; emergency assessment and triage of care as needed; coordination of routine medical and dental care; health education for youth, and delegating nurse responsibilities, if applicable. Requirements

  • Possession of an active compact Registered Nurse license without disciplinary infractions by the applicable State Board of Nursing
  • Certification to provide training, oversight and monitoring for Medication Administration Certification by direct care personnel, as per applicable State regulatory within the first six (6) months of hire.
  • Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Possession of an active Register Nurse License without infractions by the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Must also be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License without infraction by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing for remote support of a Pennsylvania program.
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience preferably in a pediatric office, group home setting, and/or residential treatment center.
  • Able to learn and effectively utilize different technology platforms.
  • Excellent computer use knowledge with Microsoft Windows 10 and 365 Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to pass a work-readiness physical performed by a certified medical professional both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter.
  • Ability to pass a Federal and State Fingerprinting Background Check and applicable Suitability Determinations both prior to employment and per the schedule outlined by HR thereafter.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen via urinalysis both prior to employment and randomly thereafter.

Responsibilities

Make it happen.” Provide oversight and coordination for all aspects of the Caminos West program, including the delivery of high quality services in accordance with regulatory timeframes to ensure that youth are provided with safe and supportive programming.
  • Arrange and communicate with staff for all in house and outpatient medical appointments/services to include: hospital emergencies and/or admissions, medical appointments, laboratory services, vaccine clinics, x-rays, and ultrasounds.
  • Update and file patient medical records, including retrieval and copies of medical records necessary for staff reports and outpatient services.
  • Organize and maintain residential medical charts.
  • Responsible for timely submission of Treatment Authorization Requests, or other forms required for reporting and billing purposes.
  • Ensures completeness of documentation of medical services provided to clients as required in federal and state databases, including the completion and submission of medical serious incident reports.
  • Carries out physician orders and provides day-to-day nursing care as needed, including administering medications, client education, interpretation of medical information, accompanying clients to surgical or extensive medical/emergency procedures, nursing intake, first aid, nursing assessments and emergency/sick call triage.
  • Performs administrative duties as requested by supervisor, including researching and updating protocols/procedures, obtaining educational materials, coordinating care at outlying facilities, organizing in service training, assuring regulatory compliance of the health suite.
  • Responsible for medication management as it relates to youth and who are administered medications by AMAPs and makes appropriate recommendations to the authorized prescriber or designee as necessary.
  • Transcribes providers orders to youth charts, medication records etc. as required. Maintains Medication Administration Records and Treatment Authorization.
  • Administers medications and treatments according to regulations and established procedures.
  • Refills and stores medications according to established pharmaceutical policies and procedures.
  • Ensures medications are discontinued per orders.
  • Maintains current scheduled and controlled drug record in accordance with state or federal laws.
  • Participates actively in the quality improvement process by identifying opportunities for process improvement, attending facility wide committee meetings; submits required reports; recommends plans for improvements.
  • Provide remote nursing support to other Caminos shelter locations during scheduled work hours to ensure consistent and timely healthcare services.
  • Infection control and disposal of contaminated waste.
  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance.
