The Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) Surgery Unit is a critical component of the hospital's surgical services, dedicated to preparing patients for surgical procedures. This unit ensures that patients are physically, emotionally, and administratively ready for their surgery, focusing on safety, efficiency, and comfort. The Pre-Op Unit streamlines the surgical process by coordinating necessary assessments, addressing patient concerns, and optimizing care transitions. Registered Nurse Pre-OP: Assessment of patients’ needs. Development of patient care plan/s Provision of direct care. Management of patient care delivery. Demonstrate of leadership skills. Support for quality care. Customer relations and healing environment. On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation. Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity. Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.
