About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The role is in the Emergency Department at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). The Weekend Work Plan provides 36 hours of work per week with pay for 48 hours.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or an AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
