About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! Our NICU unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our NICU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The NICU patient population ranges from 22 weeks Gestational Age to Term. Patient ratios are 1:3 for vented patients, 1:2 for high acuity patients, and 1:1. The unit has 21 licensed beds and is a State Designated Level III NICU Care facility with 200 annual NICU admissions. The unit boasts 93% BSN-prepared nurses and 58% RNC certified nurses, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants, is a 2-time Magnet Recognized Facility, and has 24/7 Neonatologist coverage and NNP in-house coverage. The shift is from 7pm to 7am. Requirements include 1 year of Level 3 NICU experience (including vented patients) or strong Level 2 experience. Delivery attendance for high-risk deliveries is preferred. On-call duties involve 1 shift every 6 weeks, and the nurse must live within 30 minutes of the hospital.

Requirements

1 year Level 3 NICU experience (includes vented patients) or a good strong Level 2 experience
Grad of an Accredited Program
Specialized field of study should be nursing.
RN license.
BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital

Responsibilities

Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
