About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Op/Post-Op team at Baptist Orthopedics – Reid Building in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN day shift opportunity. This specialized orthopedic OR focuses on elective procedures including sports medicine, foot, ankle, and hand surgeries. This role is ideal for an OR nurse seeking a predictable schedule with no call, nights, or weekends. Requirements
- 2–3 years Surgical Services Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process
- Coordinate care with surgical and ancillary teams
- Prepare operating room and surgical cases
- Anticipate patient and procedural needs
- Educate patients and families on care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient safety
- Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services
- Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
- Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
- Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
