About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The RN will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care, initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. The role focuses on intermediate care and the management of various drips. This is a full-time night position at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred
